About us

Welcome to the 19th Brighton Scout Group – proudly serving the young people of the Woodingdean community and surrounding areas!

We are a friendly and active Scout Group based in the Woodingdean, offering exciting opportunities for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 through our Beaver Colony (6–8 years), Cub Pack (8–10½ years), and Scout Troop (10½–14 years).

Who We Are

Scouting is all about fun, friendship, and adventure – and we bring that spirit to life in every session. Our dedicated team of volunteers creates a safe and inclusive environment where young people can grow in confidence, learn new skills, and take on exciting challenges – both indoors and out.

From creative crafts and community projects to hikes, camps, and water sports, there’s always something new to discover. We believe in learning by doing, and our programme is packed with opportunities to build independence, teamwork, and resilience – all while having loads of fun!

Our Sections

Beavers (6–8 years)
Our youngest members start their Scouting journey with games, storytelling, outdoor play, and teamwork activities that spark curiosity and build friendships.

Cubs (8–10½ years)
Cubs get stuck into a wide variety of activities, from learning practical skills and earning badges to going on adventures like camping and exploring the outdoors.

Scouts (10½–14 years)
Our Scouts take on more ambitious activities and challenges – from overnight expeditions to community service – helping them grow into capable and confident young people.

We’re always keen to welcome new members and volunteers! Whether you’re a young person ready for adventure or an adult looking to give back to the community, there’s a place for you here.
